Eh brah! I wuz tinking da odah day, some of da pidgin I rembah, no stay in use anymoah! Can you guys tink of pidgin words dat no stay anymoah? How about "regional" pidgin? Regional: "Choke" meaning, plentiful. Regulated to the Big Island. I used to use it as a kid when I'd visit cousins on Oahu, and they would scratch their heads with that one. extinct: "mufflah burns." hehe. We still use choke (for plentiful) here on Maui. Used to have choke ogo small kid time, but now no mo'.

Wow, dis chread stay real timely fo' me, yeah? Cuz I was jus' talking wit dis chick at work yestahday and we got on about pidgin. So I wen stay bring my "Pidgin To The Max" and "Pidgin To The Max Hana Hou" books today fo' her fo' spahk 'em out. She stay akchually doing pretty good wit 'em.
But, anyway, I digress. I remember, when going to school in Makiki in the early to mid 80s all the kids using "uzzz" to express doubt, digust, distrust, etc. I hated that term w/ a passion.

Anybody remember a pidgin/slang word no longer in use called watanabe? I remember hearing it small kid time. Iirc, I think it was used in place of what the hell? I'm talking old school pidgin here.
